Italian choreographer, performer and teacher living between the Netherlands and Italy, Gabriella graduated from the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam in 2002, after studying dance, philosophy and music. Since then, all her creations have been produced and funded by the city of Amsterdam, Dutch national institutions and co-produced by various Italian and European organisations.

With Anarchistas she won the Satelliti competition, promoted by Sosta Palmizi/ junge hunde net and the Dansclick in the Netherlands, performing more than 40 shows; with ZOO she won Aerowaves 2007 in London. SUPERNOVA was chosen in 2012 as the official opening show of the MUSEUMNACHT in the prestigious EYE FILM MUSEUM and ZERO ZERO as the show for the Rijks Museum in Amsterdam. Her works have received great public and critical acclaim in theatres and festivals in the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Belgium, England, France, Poland, Romania, Brazil and other European countries. She was principal resident choreographer at DANSMAKERS Amsterdam from 2004 to 2012 and at the research centre DANSLAB den Haag from 2009 to 2011. She co-founded the group Area59 and SPAZIO NUDO in Amsterdam.

In 2017 she opened the artistic and performative research space SHOW ROOM in Trevignano Romano (Rome) together with musician, stage and set designer Giovanni Cavalcoli. She has been invited as guest choreographer in academies such as Accademia di Danza in Rome, MODEM by Zappalà in Catania and Fontys dance academy in Tylburg. As guest choreographer and adviser she has also collaborated with the Balletto Teatro di Torino and Alpsmove in Bolzano as well as independent companies and choreographers in the Netherlands and Switzerland. The Associazione Sosta Palmizi has been supporting her work in Italy since 2017.

She is often invited to teach her original mix of floor work, improvisation and a particular ‘carnal’ approach to movement, in prestigious dance academies, festivals and research spaces.
